Is removing my husband as authorized user on credit card bad for his credit?

Is removing my husband as authorized user on credit card bad for his credit? I'm trying to bring down his debt to income ratio because he has no debt of his own its all on my cards and of course it shows up as his debt also.

If you remove your husband from the account, the credit card will stop reporting and his debt will indeed go down, but so will his score since your good pay history will also be removed.

It's really a moot point since the way credit scores are calculated is going to change in September so authorized users do not get the additional points that they get now.

This is because of some companies out there that have been selling trade lines to people to raise their scores. This has resulted in the mortgage industry making home loans at rates that the people really did not qualify for and has resulted in thousands of foreclosures all over the Country. Spifi's right. It won't matter too much anymore since they're changing the scoring standard this september.
