Follow Up Question

Can I have the dealer where I purchased my car do the searching of finding a company that will refinance my car?

Or does am I left to get the ding each time I submit a new application?

FYI I have had my car for 1 year

Well, you can try but most dealers only submit people they are trying to sell a car to.

Since they do not own your car there would not be any profit in this type of transaction.

I have done this in the past for a really good customer and what I did was purchase their vehicle from them and turn around and sell it right back to them for a small profit.

Good luck in finding a dealer that would be willing to do this for you. Source(s): Finance Manager for over 7-years.
the car dealer can only finance you a car from purchase not refinance, what you should be doing is looking into a bank for you to refinance , but a credit union if available is the best case . i too have bought back cars and resold them to the customer to refinance there loan but be careful there is definitely a profit in the refinance to the dealer that may be more than you would pay if you just keep the loan and add a few dollars more to the payment which would save you a lot of interest. email me if you want more info and mabey you can tell me the specifics.
