2nd secure-credit card? |
I currently have Orchard secure credit card, and it helped me build up my credit - but haven't reached my 700 score goal yet. Can you recommend a 2nd secure credit card? will this help me achieve my goal? My scores are: 627, 610 and 604 - with about 5 collection accounts each, totalling ~$6,000. Thanks Credit scores do not build fast. If your saying you have 5 accounts in collection, take care of those debts ASAP. If they have not been active for 7 years, ask the credit agencies to remove them. Many thing effect your credit. Paying more than the minimum payment. actually having a credit card, and owing nothing on it builds credit, as it shows you manage your money. Car payment? If so, pay just over 1/2 of it twice a month. This will pay it off faster, and again help with credit. Search the Internet for ways to build credit, not debt. Source(s): http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/col... GM No. You are not going to raise your score anymore until you pay off those collection accounts. You need to pay them off. Those secured credit cards do very little to raise your score... although they will show good payment history, which helps. Best thing to do is to pay off all debt AND STAY OUT OF DEBT! |
