Should I apply for this position?

I have worked at my current job for a little over 90 days. I don't particularly like the position I have now, because the man I inadvertantly work for has said to others that I am doing a bad job. However, my real boss knows that I have made fiew mistakes, and am a good employee. Just today a different position in my department came open. It has a lot more room for advancement, and I wouldn't have to work with this man anymore. It would also be a significant raise. My company encourages employees to apply for new positions in our organization, but I know that the position I have now is difficult, and I would be somewhat difficult to replace, plus, I have only now just passed my 3 month review. Do you think I should apply for this new position, or would it look bad?

i'd go for the job, if you don't have your heart in your current position, then your performance will start to slip
