On-Line University Teaching Jobs:Employee Satisfaction? |
I have a Ph.D. and need to work from home. Before I apply for a position teaching on-line, I'd like to hear from people who have first-hand information. What are the pro's and con's? Which schools do you recommend as employers, which should be avoided? I've heard bad things about the University of Phoenix. I called for information and gave up after being on hold 20 minutes. Please let me know if you are available for follow-up questions. I want to know if you enjoy the work, if you are paid decently and on time, if you plan to continue teaching on-line, if the experience was so awful you would not do it again. Thanks in advance to those who take the time to respond. I teach high school online. The pros are that it is flexible... I can work from anywhere with a computer, anytime. The cons are that there isn't enough money, it isn't a "real" job in that taxes are not deducted and we aren't given benefits. It is a great additional job for people with real jobs who need extra cash. I make between $200-$300 a week. |
