Proper business ettiquette debate, please decide? |
I am having a bit of a disagreement with a colleague. If the company you work for is going to relocate you to one of their offices in another state is it acceptable to give a list of your top 5 choices and your bottom 5 choices? Other Info 1. when you accepted the position you new it would require relocation. 2. You are fine going anywhere but do have preferences. 3. There are 5 other people that will be placed somewhere as well, but you were hired first. Please advise the correct way to handle this. Just make your preferences known to the manager relocating you, and ask if there are any reasons why they can't give you one of those. You could also contact the managers at the other location(s) and try to "sell" yourself to them, so that they may end up requesting for you in particular. |
