Education credential check for foreign/legal immigrant applicants for EIT?


i am a legal immigrant here in california, US wishing to take the EIT exam. i got my engineering degree outside the US. do i need an education credential check before i apply for the EIT exam - is that necessary? please help! thanks!

The EIT team may do the education credential check instead.
