How Do I Get Financial Help For My Family?

I am 17 years old and I have a disable mother, which she has lost a 1\3 of her leg and is starting to get blisters on her leg, has no eye sight and is on dialysis 3 times a week and is also Social security and has blue cross blue shield and right now we have reached our limit with Social security, which means we have to pay for medications out of pocket of the rest of the year. then I got 66 year old father that won't go get a job because of the hole we are in. but he also has medical problems like he has had a subdereal hematoma (blood on the brain,) 17 stents, and a pacemaker. Then there is me and I have medical problems to I have scoliosis (curvature of the spine.) I still go to school and I have decided to quit school to go just get a job so I could actually make some money for the family since my dad won't go get a job, and during the summer I have my own lawn care business and my mom won't let give my money to the family. Please help!

DO NOT QUIT SCHOOL
DO NOT QUIT SCHOOL

There IS help out there, it is just a lot to ask a 17 yr old to go and find it!!!!! I don't think she can reach her limit with social security -she should be permantly disabled. Your Father should be getting retirement Social Security. And You can get help with school!!! AND your health!!!!!

None of this sounds right.

THERE IS HELP FOR YOU -I AM JUST TRYING TO THINK
OF WHERE YOUR FIRST STOP SHOULD BE. You don't say where you live so I dont know how readily available social services are to you? I would get on the phone and start making appointments with whoever will listen! Your school principal or better yet counselor should be told the whole story -let him/her do the leg work to see who can help you out. A social worker at the Hospital may be able to point you in the right direction. Social Security even has people there to help you weed through problems. You can even go to their office of appeals if you feel you are not getting what is due. Are there any legal aid services in your area? That would be awesome! To have someone on your side with some sort of legal punch behind them!!

That is what I come up with for now. And did I mention
DO NOT QUIT SCHOOL!!!!!!! That will only set you in stone for this kind of lifestyle. You want out right?? School is the way!!!! ANYONE will tell you that!!!
The better you take care of yourself, the better you will be able to take care of your parents. But for now, you must be mature enough to know that this is the truth.
Good luck. Your family is lucky to have you.
If your dad or home goes to a hospital, try to get the social worker/case manager to help. They have numbers to different agencies. Try to apply for medicare so they can help with medications.
Try this website too www. modestneeds.com
Hope this helps.
Don't Quit School!

Talk to someone near you at your school, maybe a teacher, maybe an adviser, councilor, find a church near your home that might help you. Have your mom and dad call your local welfare office (AFDC). You can go to St Vincent De Paul Society they help.
Hit the social security office for help...
They will have a counselor sit with you and advise you..
your father can qualify for ssi

its sad to see someone close to you at this situation, pick up a phone and call 311 ask if your grandparents can apply with food stamps and other financial aid assistance sort of like telephone assistance program and or Medicaid for health benefits. there are lots of programs available and paperwork is required but in the long run its well worth it with limited income.
