How do you get started to obtain a career doing detecting Financial Fraud? |
My college degree is in Business Administration and I have taken these Accounting/Finance Classes: - Introduction to Financial Accounting I & II - Introduction to Managerial Accounting - Financial Management of the Firm - Financial Markets & Institutions - Problems in Financial Management - Analysis of the Financial Statement I've worked for KPMG before and they have an area called Forensic Services which does that. Other big 4 companies probably have it as well. I have heard of Forensic Accounting before, so check for a program that includes that. I would also recommend something in risk management or information technologies. Both can lead to a position involving the detection of financial fraud. Good luck! You need more background in forensic accounting. Maybe a masters or a CPA. |
