My friend got job in JP Morgan. His position is in Finance-Trade . What are the prospects? |
What are the future prospects of such a job? Althought the salry offered to him as of now is'nt much great. JP Morgan is a decent name and a decent place to start. If by Finance-Trade, you mean trade finance in the corporate bank, my advice would be for your friend to start there and shift into more complex (and lucrative) products like project finance, structured finance and leveraged finance. Of the three, leveraged finance may be the best choice because it gives you lots of exposure to different types of deals and to different aspects of the finance industry. If you are looking for general career / culture information for entry level roles at the major banks, try www.vault.com, which has a lot of very good insight about different units at several banks. Most entry level jobs in finance are low paying, dead end and should be used as stepping stones to further your career in finance. After about 5 years, the pay is much better and you'll have more opportunity. I have never heard of anything good regarding JP Morgan Chase. They bleed you dry and spit you out if you don't work 100 hours a week. Go to www.jobvent.com. Real reviews about the company in different areas. I had 2 friends who worked there. Boy was I glad they didn't hire me. There are good prospects in Trade. Tell him to stick there for atleast 5-6 yrs. and that will definitely help him in future. |
