Will i get unemployment from a temp service? If the temp agency does not have work for you to do, then you can collect unemployment after completing an assignment. It depends upon the type of service u r doing & also upon the type of ur skills or education u have done. I don't think seasonal or temp positions are eligible for unemployment, but that would depend on what state you're in. They all have different labor laws. When you are a temp, you don't have a steady job. So, I am sure you are able to collect. However, you have to be working for more then one agency to collect. If you are working for one, chances are slim because of not enough income. I don't think so. You tupically collect unemployment when you are terminated other than for cause or your job is eliminated. If you work for a temp agency, you do not get "terminated" when your assignment is finished nor is your job eliminated. Moving from one assignment to another, possibly with gaps in between, is what working as a temp is all about. Check with a temp agency to get information, but don't hold your breath. Not if they can help it. |
