What is the best way to find a job out of college? |
I just graduated college and I have been looking all over the web for potential job oppritunities but everwhere is looking for someone with at least 3yrs experiance. I am looking for something in the financial or investment field. What should I do? Go to recruiters that specialize in financial services/accounting. There are tons of them on Monster. Just post your resume and many will find you. It will be difficult for you to find an analyst position (entry level at sell-side firm) but trust me, if you have high aspirations, do not settle for a support position unless it is for a very large sell side firm. Also, think of a very good excuse for why you didn't join your college's recruitment process (unless they didn't have one) as many financial firms started looking for new grads in December. Most colleges have job fairs about a month or so before graduation. The best way is to determine what field you want to be in and start doing internships with an employer in that field. Also, doing ride-alongs or shadowing someone for a day in a particular business can also help gain you practical experience which will help you in that interview when a possible opportunity arises. |
