I have the first phone interview with an Edward Jones recruiter. Can anybody tell me what are the questions?

they asked me to name a time that i failed at something and how did i fix it, and name a time that i had to network to solve a problem,
i am sick of interviews, the questions are just so idiotic, so far i have done interviews with a bunch of companies and not one has asked if i know anything about investing, they ask stuff like "name a time in your life you couragously stood up for something you believe in"

ugh
hmm Edward Jones? Did you find the job on Careerbuilder? I heard they were bullsh1tting people. Edward Jones is a reputable copmany, but be careful. They have so many job openings for account rep or executive they are kinda shady.

Good luck1
I can tell you that you will be asked just about every question possible. I have recently gone through about 10 interviews, and they do get easier, but you just have to answer to the best of your ability. They will ask trick questions like "what is one of your weaknesses?" to which they would expect to hear that you procrastinate, or that your are unorganized. I would go with your family, which could also be a positive. I'm sure it will be grueling, but just take your time, and don't answer too quickly, it's not a race.

I would also suggest going to this website: http://www.quintcareers.com/interview_qu...

Print out the questions and go through each one and think about how you would answer them. Write down your answers. Go over and over the questions, or have somebody else ask you so that you get used to hearing them. That way, when you are asked, you will know exactly what you want to say. Good Luck!!
Think real hard about what a difficult job it is to become a successfull broker. Having spent many years in the biz, many of them as a broker, I can look back and see what made the successfull ones just that. The top? Were well connected family wise. They had a built in network. Just as the those who went to a good school and were able to network their heads off there.(listening students?) Then there were the ones who "inherited" a book of business from someone retiring. Awesome deal if you can manage to cozy up to someone and help them out, learn their style, and make them feel comfortable leaving their business with them. It is rare, but can be done, to build a book through hard work. A lot of hard. It is like running for office and getting your name out in the community. Church, every charity in town, get your name in the paper!!!!!! Get people to know and TRUST you!!! A lot of work!!!!!
NOW THE REASON I AM TELLING YOU ALL THIS?????
KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE!!!! OBVIOUSLY THEY WANT YOU TO GENERATE BIZ ASAP!!!
WHAT KIND OF QUESTIONS WOULD YOU BE ASKING OF A CANDIDATE, NOW THAT YOU KNOW WHAT THEY WANT?
Every brokerage firm is the same - Edward Jones is no different.
Keep in mind the larger firms however will offer you more extensive training, in hopes of setting the baby bird free from the nest a little better prepared.
