What should I expect from the Series 7? The Series 7 (General Securities Representative) requires intensive study and training so expect a long test and this is probably the most difficult license exam to take for a financial professional. You can consider a firm that coaches you to prepare and pass the Series-7 test the first time. Do a search under "Series-7" at yahoo.com or www.google.com Here is MORE information for you: This exam is the same in every state and allows a person to sell securities. The Series 7 exam has 250 questions (given in two 125 question parts), a 6 hour time limit (broken into two 3 hour parts) and a 70% passing grade. Some states also require a person holding this license to obtain a Series 63 license. How to deal with customers (account handling etc) 2. intro to the markets (stock exchange etc) 3. basic knowledge of: equity, debt, short term, exempt, option and packaged securities 4. a little bit on financial analysis. larasing is correct but makes it sound much simpler than it really is. the breadth of topics disucssed is huge and the questions are tricky. lots of "which of the following is not an example of..." so you really do have to put in the study time because the questions can be really arbitrary... passed the test |
