Bank teller or data entry?

Ok, I kinda have an option open too me. I currently work at a insurance place where pretty much all i do is data entry. Boring..probably the most boring job i've ever had. I have an opportunity to work as a bank teller..do you think bank teller would make the day go by faster? Cause now at the data entry insurance job 2 minutes honestly feels like 30..

I have been in banking for 7 years and was a teller for the first part of that, but now I am a Teller Supervisor. I am going to be honest....it is sooooooo crazy. It is a great job if you work at a good bank, and YES the time will fly. I am not sure where you live, but where I am tellers make more than data entry, plus most banks offer incentives for sales.
Let me ask you, would you prefer dealing with lots of people daily. I love dealing with people, speaking to them, helping them but if you don't then you might not be happy as a bank teller.
Bank teller will go faster since you will seem busy.
Being a Bank Teller will likely move faster but it really can be crazy.
You can learn a lot if you keep your eyes and ears open while being a teller. However - dealing with the public is usually h.e.l.l. I did it for several years as a teller and also as a high level accounting manager for a branch.

As a teller go to all the training they offer and then review stuff by using google for questions and by asking questions of smarter managers.

Data entry while boring can lead to supervisor jobs - but again - you have to "pay your dues" and learn the process. No question that data-entry can be tough also.
It depends if you love dealing with people. If you don't, then I suggest that you go back to school and find your calling since data entry isn't your thing. Bank tellers deal with the public. No work no matter where you work at can make the day go faster unless you love what you do for a living.
I worked at a bank for 11 years and loved it. I think your day would definitely go by faster. You would be seeing different people every day and being able to help them. Then there are people who come in multiple times during the week and you get to really know them. Then it seems like you are just visiting with friends when you are at work. I think if you are bored with data entry that being a bank teller would be a great move for you.
