What kind of jobs can i get with an associates in accounting? |
i was just curious because im getting one this coming semester, i have searched jobs on here and monster and accounting technician and payroll clerk came up alot i was also wandering what i would be doing in either job, thanks for the info (also can anyone give me a good estimate on how much i would make and if it would be more than $6.50 an hour) All of the other answers are great, I just wanted to add that you don't always need an internship to get your foot in the door. While I was working on my bachelors (I didn't have an associates either), I got my first job as a staff accountant at a small CPA firm (5 people total) making $28k (approx $14/hr). Basically, my boss just didn't want to pay someone a heck of a lot and the education I had at the time was "good enough". While the job wasn't glamorous, it gave me the experience I needed before applying to my second, much higher paying job. Just apply to a lot of places, you never know who may be interested. an accountant. Look for bookkeeper, accounts payable clerk, accounts receivable clerk. But before you can get any job, you have to have EXPERIENCE. Go to two internships if you have to, but at least you will have a year of work experience before you can land a job. Good luck.
