I received a cashier's check in the mail from this company in Canada saying that I had won $170,000 in a contect and was sent a cashier's check for $4,290.00 supposely to pay a portion of $2,900 of taxes. They insist I call them before trying to cash the check. Who knows what is it? Similar question was resolved- how??? LISTEN CAREFULLY IF YOU DID NOT ENTER A CONTEST.... YOU DIDN"T WIN A PRIZE! Don't phone, or you will get a big amount charged on your phone bill. Or they will tell you to send in the $2900 taxes from this cheque, you will lose $2900 when their cheque bounces but yours doesn't. Don't try to cash the cheque or they could get banking information, and the cheque WILL BOUNCE anyway. There are no lotteries or contests in CANADA that require tax to be paid because there is no tax on Lotteries or contests in Canada. Take all your information, and your cheque to your local police dept and see if they will investigate this SCAM ! |
