Is $30,000/yr too low for personal banker position in Boston? |
Is $30,000/yr too low of a salary for a personal banker position in Boston? What is the average starting salary for a personal banker in Boston? I work for a bank and it does seem a little low...if they factor ina sales incentive, then you shouldnt have to worry--the money making potential for new accounts, upgrades, cc's, loans...etc can substantially increase your monthly salary. some of us earn an add'l 1000.00 month consistantly. I couldn't find a link for personal banker but an entry level accountant in Boston makes $37,800 - $55,575. http://swz.salary.com/salarywizard/layou... Personal banker? Here are some staring salary ranges: Bank tellers 25-40K a year financial planners series 6/66 make about 30ish base plus commission series 7/66 financial planner make about 35-40 plus a much higher commission Management would be based on experience. That is a bench mark for basically wherever you live. I have lived in NY/NJ and I would assume that it would be similar in Boston. I moved to Virginia and it is similar. I have been in the business for a while, and I take a small salary and a higher commission payout. I was a personal Banker in Chicago, and the base salary was 27,000 a year plus commission for peddling the bank's products. No, the cost of living in Boston is huge. I worked in Springfield MA. several years ago and made over $70,000.00 a year and it was barely enough. Been there done that. |
