What MBA degree is best to get a job as a stock broker/trader? Or in General in the financial markets? |
What MBA degree is best to get a job as a stock broker/trader? Or in General in the financial markets? I am a stockbroker with an MBA. I found that an MBA degree is not necessary to get a job as a stockbroker/trader, though it certainly helps. What is more important is prior experience (internships count) in the industry, and the passing of the requisite licensing exams. If you were to get an MBA, a concentration in finance would be helpful in not only giving you an understanding of financial markets and theory, but would get your foot in the door with future employers. Good luck! an MBA IS a degree. If you mean a Master's in Finance vs. an MBA, then that's a different story. If you're looking into becoming a stock broker/trader, an MBA is not going to help you. In the financial arena, an MBA with a specialization/emphasis in Finance would help. In the end, having a Master's degree is good enough by itself. MBA student As a very concrete and complete source of information as to MBA studies (Finance) and the financial industry as a professional field, is the website Vault. Take your time and research thoroughly the website. Regards. http://www.vault.com Check out Masters in Quantitative Finance or Masters in Financial Engineering degrees... (if you want to be a big shot) I know people in the program (its extremely difficult to get in) |
