What is the difference between "economical" and "financial" educations?

I am planning to study masters degree in either economical of financial sectors. Can any one explain what is the difference between them?

we had a professor who used to say that without knowing micro (i.e. finance in your case), you cannot understand macro (i.e. economics), and vice versa. well, you will eventually need both.
unless you are planning to work for a government institution, either degree should work for you, as long as you take courses / read about the other topic as well.
in general, economics departments also include micro and finance departments also include macro courses / profs /etc. anyway. Source(s): studying some of both. observing the careers of many professionals from both fields.
It is my understanding that economy concerns the management of resources. For example all US commodities effect our economy. Higher gas price sales can equal lower luxury item sales. An economist would study that situation.
Financial is concerned with currency or money and some type transaction. There is nothing financial about money just sitting there, but finance studies the movement. That's the way I always understood it
