Is it a good move to change from an IT job to a Financial role in London?

the IT industry is now coming down. every day less students are taking computer science as a course. outsourcing is moving most development to south east asia ... is IT a good industry to work in? what do you all think?

i worked in an investment firm doing IT work. theoretically, any type of IT work can be outsource...except for propriety in-house software or hardware support. there will alway need someone in house for those i mention above depending on the size of the firm.

im 30...and i dont see myself doing IT work like fixing computer like when im 50. that's why im thinking about moving the financial sector since i work for an investment firm. wish me luck.
its a good idea
I think it should be a good move
