It really comes down to which definition of resource you use. Are your personnel a source of support or a source of supply? Outsourcing is economic misdirection to cover for management that has not maximized a department's commitment and contribution to the company's mission statement.
Has your feasibility study confirmed a limited impact area and a low probability that the current staff can excel? If so, When did the "ant mentality" become so pervasive that comprehensive insight was reduced to insignificance?
If you are seriously considering this, it could be a specific example of a more endemic situation. Is dismantling the ship to eliminate ballast ever the best thing to do? I know this is more thought than fact, but your finance department has probably deluged you with facts already. Good Luck. |
