What should be a woman's maximum length of fingernails in order to be appropriate for a job interview? |
For instance, is 1/4 of an inch appropriate? They're real nails and are well groomed. Also, in a business/finance profession, how long can nails be in a corporate environment, and is keeping them clean and nicely trimmed enough or is a manicure with nailpolish necessary? 1st off, most businesses will have an "employee handbook" that will tell you most everything you need to know in the form of a "dress code". 2nd, if you are going into an interview with fingernails that are 5 inches in length and painted oddball and wild colors then you will probably not get hired, depending on what type of job it is. 3rd, the average length for a business-like atmosphere is around 1/4 to 1inch, well groomed, maybe not manicured but neat, with a basic colored nail polish. Good luck and hope this helps. Source(s): AAS in Business Management (cume laude), Manager at a local business I believe it depends. If you're going to work say, fast food, you might not want to have really long nails. On the other hand, if you're in an office environment, and you have to type, long nail might not work as well. Having bad looking nails like, flaking polish and chewed to the bed, isn't good in any environment, but I wouldn't think that your job requires you to have them groomed weekly by a professional. Cleaned and nicely trimmed is generally preferred especially is you will be working directly with the clients. I think 1/4 of a inch is certainly in line, as long as the length would not get in the way of doing the job. Hope this helps, good luck:) |
