What does it mean when I job position is non-exempt???? Non-exempt means you are subject to laws regulating overtime pay. Usually you are paid by the hour and must clock in/out or somehow keep track of your work time. Exempt means that no matter how many hours you work, you get a set salary for a specific time period. Normally, you don't have to clock in/clock out. I agree completely with Answer Queen's response. Good luck! yes it means that you are not exempt from overtime. if you have to work longer hours it is a better deal for you. if you need a more time off or become sick, then it is usually better to be on the other side of the fence , exempt. the disadvantage is there is rarely OT on the exempt side. i have seen it approved a few times though. hmmmsss.... it means that ur exempted as in dont do it |
