I'm 17 and a high school student how do I fill out my Tax forms W-4 and stuff like that for employment?

I just got hired and I thought since I was underage and a student I could go exempt but my employer is saying that I'm wrong. What do I do? How do I fill them out?

Read the back of the form or 2nd page - these things come with instructions to fill them out
Put 1 in the total box, date and sign. The 1 is you, your only exemption.
As a high school student I assume you are still living at home and your parents are claiming the exemption for you. Depending on how much you make you could wind up owing taxes unless you have the highest amount of taxes withheld.

I reccommend you mark single and 0 exemptions and have the taxes taken out. That should cover and may bring you a surprise of a small refund, however better to be surprised with a refund than the surprise of finding out you owe.
