Would you take a job for 拢10k less with a mortgage to pay? |
been told by an agency to go for another interview despite my protest that its less money as he says I will have more opportuntities there to learn etc and may get bigger bonuses. not sure to trust him or not and I really cannot afford 拢10k less especially as i will be paying more for travel and probably work longer hours :( but there are opportunities there to learn more but then again with learning more it means more pressure and not much personal time.Thing is i know if i don't go for it the agency will drop me and if i'm successful and they won't budge on the money and I decline the job the agency will drop me too and in the finance market you can't afford to get a bad name wiht agencies Are you unemployed and the job is 拢10K less than your previous one. I do not know if you are talking about a 拢10K drop from 拢90K or a 拢10 k drop from 30k If unemployed you have little choice, If you are employed no chance If you don't trust the agent why are you considering this anyway? No chance. i wouldnt risk it find another agency if they cant understand its the money that is the issue for you my boyfriend is on 13k a year and we cant even afford to rent!! Some money is better than no money, even if it's not as much money as you want. Better to go forward with this opportunity and keep searching for better ones, than to reject it completely and be left with nothing. Personally, I'd flip burgers if I had to.... Have you already got a permanent job? If so,stay with it as this agency person sounds as if he is bullying you.He of course gets a good commission for placing you in any position.Good luck.Try another agency. 10k is a lot of money to lose all at once! I wouldn't accept it, I would rather find another agency. I think that what they are really saying! I think the issue is 2 fold; 1. Do you want the job? 2 Can you afford to take it? You can only answer number 1 by finding out more so would go for the interview. The employers can tell you more than the agency. For the second you need to ask is there a way you can afford to budget on your new wage. How much would you drop after tax? What other income do you have? Would a lodger be possible? If you spent more time at work would you spend less? |
