Job searching in Australia relies more on personal relationships. There are plenty of qualified candidates to choose from. So you have to focus more on getting yourself connected to the society (besides handling the logistics of visa issue).

It is better to relocate on a worker's visa so that potential employers know that you can start work quickly. Many probably think that they cannot get you right away because you still have the necessary paperwork to iron out.
