I just got laid off...looking for a job....and I need some financial help until then suggestions appreciated!? I'm sorry to hear about that. For finances, maybe you can look for other jobs or go to unemployment to get checks. Keep looking for another job that pays, and ask for a loan from the bank or family and friends. do you have unemployment? try to apply you may qualify for unemployment , you may also qualify for state aid for retraining. Enquire at your city or county welfare department to see if you qualify for any assistance , like rent aid or food stamps. Anything you can get will be useful. Apply for jobs of course. You may find at least part time work. good luck. Start sending resumes, on and offline. Regarding financial help, if it is really that immediate, you could rummage through your house for things that you have not been using. Collect them and open a garage sale. While waiting for any calls from probable employers, if you have a good writing command, you could venture into writing. Check out.. http://www.joinira.blogspot.com/... It is definitely legit. Feed it to search engines and see what they have to say. Best of luck, Aweng Moral-Basco http://www.joinira.blogspot.com/... Do what they say about the unemployment thing. They take taxes out of every one of your checks so you can use it when you need it. It's job insurance. there are also work at home jobs you can find online that are fully legit, but those are really hard to find and most stuff online is a scam. Research that for yourself, thats how i found my job. stopinternetscams .net is a site that offers info and tells which jobs are real and about all the new scams out there. good luck. Sorry to hear you were laid off... Before getting financial help it is important to make an assessment on how you feel about the situation, clear your head of anger, sadness, desperation or whatever you might be feeling. After that the best thing to do is to get a new job... it's like falling from the saddle, as soon as you do , you need to get back in right away. You have plenty of options, but because finances are a concern my recommendation is to go talk to a temporary agency: they can find you a temp assignment fast, that would help pay the bills, and you can focus on searching a good permanent job. There are plenty of temp companies and with reasonable administrative skills it would be easy to get a job. In this kind of situation is best to try limit your expenses. Check if your friends and family could lend you a hand, or some money. Also you could register for unemployment support. Depending on how big your financial need is, you could either use a credit card, get some of your 401(k) money... try using resources you have like selling things you don;t use on e-bay, or do a yard sale... whatever you can without building more debt... Good Luck! |
