Hi, I am currently in a good Undergraduate Business program in Dalhousie University(Top 5 Canadian School)! My courses include Economics, Accounting, Stats, Management, Statistics, Marketing. I plan to take Finance, and other courses to help with being an analyst. BUT my question is "What are my chances of getting an internship with an I-Bank or Commercial Bank?" I mean I am taking related courses but does this supply me with enough knowledge to do well at an analyst intership position. How else can I prepare to get the job? Please help!
Get your CFA designation. I work for a major bank in Toronto. You would have to work at the head offices here. Most associates' programs involve less sophisticated work but if you have the designation, you could try to get in that way.
Most people go through a temp agency. They put up with a yucky position for a year and a half. During that time they get permanence at the bank and transfer into a better department later on.
