I want to be a Stockbroker? |
Right i worked in a small cap brokerage for a while but left to pass the exams, im almost ready for the securities exam having already passed the Regs. I want to work for one of the bigger companies like Brewin Dolphin or an Investment Bank. Does any one know do these companies take Junior Brokers who have not took a Degree? Any other advise would be much appreciated Thanks in advance Yup, they'll take you without having a degree in finance. I spent a few years as an institutional broker and wealth manager at Morgan Stanley and an options trader for optionsXpress with a BA in journalism! The key is getting your license and having good sales/business moxie. Capitalist. I want to be an engine driver. Chug, chug, chug Want, Want, Want. Did your mum not tell you wanting never gets. ( Good luck ! ) I went into finance(Citigroup) at the end of last June. I used Learntosucceed.biz for advice. The owner spent over 20 yrs on Wall St. They provided written materials and phone advice for about $30. The aforementioned owner handles the phones so it may be a good idea for you to pick his brain. It worked for me. Good luck I purchased a dummies on finance and found it a waste of time and money. My friend recommended a career consulting service called LTS Advisors. I paid $30 for their printed materials and got access to their advice line included. Both the reading materials and the phone advice were incredibly helpful to me. The author, who handles the phone advice, spent many years as a hiring manager on Wall St so he knows all the tricks of the trade. Check their site at Learntosucceed.biz Good bye and good luck |
