I believe i'm getting convicted of a petty theft misdemeanor. I should be getting a plea bargain where if I co It may sound like a TV show, but talk to a lawyer. If you cannot pay for one, the court may appoint one for you. The plea bargain may be "okay", but a lawyer can better explain what happens to your record and how that affects your future. For example, IF I do a background check on you and see that, I am not likely to hire you to handle money in my store or fast food place. On the other hand, some employers disregard misdemeanors. If the choice is misdemeanor or felony, consider the misdemeanor the better choice if you do not have a valid defense. REMEMBER ..... I AM NOT A LAWYER. This is just an opinion from someone who is very likely in another state.
