If i become a financial data analyst?

where can my career go in terms of growth...i want to ultimately become a director of finance..how do i achieve this goal..i have a B.S. in Finance and international business from the university of maryland

I agree with the last answer. A few years with one of the top tier public accounting firms, get as much on the job paid trainings (i.e. employer pays for you to obtain professional accreditation), experience as wide variety of businesses and industries. If you manage to get MBA at the mean time, then you can pretty much go to any company you choose; otherwise you have to put in more time with the public accounting firm.

Best wishes.
Get at least 3 years of public accounting experience and then go to a company with international businesses (one that consolidates in the US). Find a strong mentor at the company and let them know your plans. Don't stay too long in one place, or find a company (like Danaher, for example), that likes to export talent to its sister companies.
