What kind of jobs can I get with a Series 6 license? |
What kind of jobs can I get with a Series 6 license? You could work at a bank, perhaps as a "banker," but to work at an advisory firm, you'd have to add a life insurance license. With only a Series 6, you can sell brokerage products, such as mutual funds and bonds. To sell stocks, you'd need a series 7. To sell variable annuities (which are actually an insurance product), you'd need a life insurance license in addition to your Series 6. It's an interesting field.........best of luck to you! :-) Source(s): Financial Services industry, 15 years. I believe that's the license to sell insurance of some sort. If you get your series 7 you can sell stocks and be a broker or financial adviser. You can find a job as financial advisor, at companies like Goldman Sachs or smaller firms. Also try banks, insurance companies, and local credit unions. A series 6 license covers mutual funds, variable annuities, retirement plans, insurance products, investment policies, and customer accounts and orders. Do some networking in your area for financial advisors, sometimes that's the best way to find a job. You can work for brokerage firms or investment companies that help advising clients on mutual fund and other investment products. A few of these companies also have training programs. They will put you through a rotation of roles at the same time help you with Series 6, 63 and other exams. As an example, check out Edward Jones http://careers.edwardjones.com/us/fa/sta... Best wishes. |
