No work schedule? |
I'm 17 and I work at a Quiznos and been working there for over a month now or so, part time. My manager usually just tells me when to work and tells me when my days off are. Now its the summer and it seems to be a ***** trying to set things up with friends and stuff, not knowing ahead of time of my days off. I have asked my manager twice in the past to give me some sort of schedule ahead of time but instead she'll only tell me a few days in advance. It's driving me nuts! =/ How should I go about this situation? just quit your job Wow, I can't believe that she does not do a weekly schedule ahead of time. She must not be very organized at all. Does she do that for everyone? I would ask for a weekly schedule, if she does not give you one then give your two week notice. I would also immediately start looking for another job, because I doubt that she will change. Why don't you try Subway. Thats a sign of bad management. If this is just a summer job and partying with your friends is important - you can simply put up with her or leave. Check your state's laws. In some states (maybe all) there is a law that they have to provide your schedule so many days in advance. This is really unfair. Next time she schedules you, you could tell her you already have plans. I guess it depends how badly you need this job. If she doesn't put you on the schedule, does that mean you aren't a real employee? Does she pay you under the table? I have a feeling there's something fishy going on here, or she wouldn't treat you differently than the other employees. |
