I quit my job and need ideas into getting a new one.? |
I quit my job in a beauty supply three months ago b/c it sucked! So i moved on to a minimum wage paying job at subway. Turns out they were an on-call job, so i went off to look for another job, still paying minimum wage but a permanent job. Well a week into the job they told me they were now only giving me 9 hour weeks due to the fact they have too many people, so i'm desperate and depressed!! Any ideas? Just keep on looking you will find a better job. It is better not to accept any job that comes along. It will ruin your work history. You should also not ignore the value of a good education. There are now online courses, which will enable you to get a degree in 2 years while you work. An education is a long-term investment. It will put you in good jobs. It will also give you a lot of self-respect. Money is not everything. There are learning years and earning years. It is generally not a good idea to prioritize work before education. It is like putting the cart before the horse. Peace and blessings! maybe try doing an apprentiship doing something that you want to do in the future? other than that i cant suggest anything else than to keep trying Check in your local newspaper, sometimes you can look at their online website so you don't have to buy the paper every day. Also check websites like www.craigslist.com Spread the word among friends and family that you are looking for work and ask them to keep their eyes open for you. You'd be surprised at what networking can do! Try some temp service places in your community, a lot of times temp jobs can end up having permanent openings. Explore jobs with flexible schedules that will allow you to continue searching for a more permanent job in your free time. Sometimes you can come across jobs where you can set your own pay such as child care or home cleaning. Best of luck, don't get frustrated. Keep at the search and something definitely will come along. In the meantime, cut down on spending and try managing your finances well so that you aren't too stressed out over money in the meantime. Well a job won't come to you, so you have to get out there and look! Take a trip to the mall and get all the job applications you can. Go to any businesses in your downtown area and ask if they are hiring. If you go on the internet, search sites like monster and craigslist and hotjobs. You can also post your resume on these sites. Ask around to your family and friends if they know of any job openings or if they can put in a good word for you at their jobs. Check out the newspaper and read the classifieds. The more you do these things, the better your chances of getting a new job quick! look into buying a business. become business owner. What about starting in a direct sales business? I have been a Tupperware manager for over 5 years now, and I have worked it along side of a full-time job at first, then a part time daycare position, and now I only sell Tupperware full-time. It can be a great source of extra income to "fill in" where you current job leaves you without extra cash flow. I cordially invite you to my website - get some more info, then if you have more questions, or if you're ready to get started, make sure to click the "contact me" tab at the top of the page! Retail is a great option - I started as a sales associate at New York and Company when I was 18 and quickly became a manager. Call centers are hard, frustrating and sometimes just downright demoralizing, however, they pay well, give benefits, and hire almost all full-time people. Waitressing can help immediately with cash flow as well - hope you have lots of patience and a great willingness to make people happy though! Good luck! Jennifer www.my2.tupperware.com/jennife... |
