I got a new job... now I need ideas??

I start a great new job tomorrow as a retail manager for a food service company. I will be in charge of the cashiers and the cooks, as well as office work. I'm very excited for the job but have never managed people before. Any tips on first impressions? I'll be having a staff meeting to introduce myself and don't want to sound cliche or full of b/s. Any ideas?

in your meeting try not to look nervous even though you will be. remember your their new boss. its always nice for everyone to be able to get along, but remember at work be professional, after work you can be friends-dont mix them together. stand tall and hold your ground for your decisions. good luck!
If you are the manager, then you should have no problems with expressing what you expect out of the workers. Then you can open up to them on what they might want from you.
Just dont power trip!!! And remember they are people too.
