Can you give the information? |
my younger has got oppertunity to work at Barolo Restaurent, NY as a waiter. He has to work eight hours a day. If wish he can work extra two hours a day as overtime. Can you inform me how much the restaurent pay to my brother per per hour? Will he get any scope to get trips? Even at the low wage for servers, there isn't a lot of OT out there. If it is offered it will be time and a half, whatever the rate where you are is. Tips also depend on the house. Only a few weeks of work can tell you how much the earning potential will be. Overtime is generally at least 1.5 times his regular pay. This means that if his regular pay is 8/hr, he would make 12/hr minimum overtime. I don't know why you're asking about mouthwash or trips, but if you're asking about *tips*, in certain areas of the country, tips cannot be used to count towards your minimum wage. This means, in laymen's terms, that if the minimum wage is 7/hr, and you make on average, 2/hr in tips, the restaurant is NOT allowed to simply pay you 5/hr. They still have to pay you 7/hr. But this isn't the law in every city or state in the USA, and I don't know much about New York's laws, because I live in Washington State. Now, note that minors are sometimes allowed to be paid below the minimum wage (such as 85% of the minimum wage or the like), so your younger (younger what? You didn't specify that) "it" may want to take this into consideration when making sure that his paycheck is accurate. I hope this helps. Waiters and waitresses get a low hourly rate--and then rely on tips to make up for it. some places pool the tips and then split them. No matter what--you have to claim the tips everyday. And some places give the bus boys a share of the tips for their work. No matter what--customer service is difficult--big tables full of people, served professionally and with courtesy-- left with a dollar tip----customers can be rude--disrespectful, not courteous, crude, and just plain stupid. You have to endure it and be nice. That is the nature of the business. Good luck |
