New job....? |
Okay so i am working at a tanning salon right now, full time "manager" making 6.50 an hour after taxes equals to about 200 a week, which is not cutting it! I got offered a job at a downtown resteraunt making 5.00 an hour plus tipshare. That is about .70 more than what the other hostess in the resteraunt make. But since i have the "manager" experience then they started me out a little more. Is that worth the change of job....if theres any hope that i can make more i am taking the chance. I dont kno the % of tip share i get cause i didnt know to ask...please give me your advise on hostess jobs and tipshare, thanks. If you are a good waiter you can make a ton of money, so take this job and learn the business. Then you can move up to a better house. Tipshare is a little dodgy because there will always be one slacker who gets the same tips as you but it will be worth the experience. Good luck! I say stay where you are, something much better will come along. Atleast at the end of the week you know exactly how much you will bring home versus not knowing whether you will get any tips for the day and no money. Dont do it...... Tip share usually requires the servers to "tip out" the bussers, bartenders and hostesses a protion of their tips. It depends on how well the restaurant does and the "average check". If it is a low price coffee shop, the tips probably won't be much. If it is a upscalle restaurant, the tips will be more and you get a higher amount. I believe the Federal minimum wage goes up tomorrow and you'll make more than $5.00 an hour. |
