Should I take this job? |
I live in a very small town with very little opportunity for work. I got offered a job at the packing plant. I would be training to chop up animal and grind them down. I don't want to do this, but were I'm from work does't come around that often. Would you take the job? Well this is a very difficult situation. Learning to become a meat cutter isn't such a bad a career as you make out. A part of me says yes, another says no. I would do two things first I would go down to the plant and tell them I want to take the job. Then I would go home and get all my things ready for a move to another town or city. Why? Well you gotta try it. Often we imagine a job is horrid. When actually it turns out to be fantastic if we actually try it. Life is an opportunity to try things. But I would be packing things up because if this is the only choice in town, there are a lot of towns in the nation. Maybe its not the job. Maybe its because you're little guardian angel is telling you "move... move..." I probably wouldn't... I don't think I could do that and still love meat like I do. Here's the real question- Do you have any other reasonable options? If so, you should avoid this job. If you really have NO other options, do what you have to in order to get enough money together to move to a place with more opportunity. No. I would not. I would take it in a snap. Money is money and who knows, you could like it. I would give it a shot for sure. I have worked at a large plant called Exel Beef. Take the job. It pays ok and you just need to get used to it. They usually keep it cold on the floor so the smell isn't bad. You may learn a good trade and end up being a butcher, better pay. I used to cut, and trim flank steak. work there until something comes along that is better, don't stop looking even tho you r working |
