What is a job orientation?

I had a interview today and they told me to come thursday for a orientation...........What is orientation

orientation is where they tell u what the dress code is, show u where and what u will be doing while u are at work. tell u everything about ur job, show u around, introduce u to other employees and supervisors and such. but congrats on the job.
paper work, training, training videos, register training. go in uniform also, and you get paid for this!
its like the head start of the job, or the introduction to it. congratulations!
Orientation is when you fill out the paperwork, they tell you the basic rules and the dress code. Usually you get to meet your trainer and they go over job expectations and schedule.
Good Luck!
thats when they tell you about the job and what they will make you do.. along with getting administrative info (your id, personal info, fingerprints, drug test etc) on file ..a tour of the work place ..talk to a few people ..see how things are done..kinda like "Welcome to your new home".
