Why are most employers letting down most foreign born professionals seeking job in their field of experience. |
I and many of my peers who have had professional career outside US and who came to live our dream and who kept up our professional education are seek and tired of not atleast getting a courtesy reply from employers let alone an interview. I used to be open minded and tried to look things positively and never wanted to give in. But now I am running out of patience of seeking professional employment opportunity with american corporate world. Most of us have a better performance than the natives at school, but when it comes to employment opportunity nativeness has more weight. I used to read techniques to succeed with job search and stuffs like that , but now every thing is just crap. The truth, even though not all the time but most of the time lies in the hands of prejudists. are you a legal resident? do you have a visa? A valid ss#? I know it sounds petty, but do u speak English well? it also depends on where you are from. the attitudes towards immigrants in this country is not positive at all. sorry that you picked a bad time to make a new life here. Have you applied for citizenship here in the US? Many employers don't want the hassle of restrictions on non citizens regardless of your performance. You also may have to start at a lower level here than you might in your home country, there are many people applying for the same positions that's just life. Sorry that you are not happy here. |
