What Is In Hot Dogs ?? |
I Would Really Like To Now What HotDogs Contain ?? Hot dogs can be made from any type of meat or combination of meats. Typically, they are made from pork or pork/chicken but you can buy all beef dogs. They even make vegetarian hotdogs made from no meat. I don't know what parts of the animal are used for hotdogs - I'm sure it's leftovers and scraps. Not something I really want to know, myself! Beef, pork, chicken, etc., etc. Depends of the manufacturer. Hot dogs contain a lot of the less desirable cuts of meat such as tripe, meat from the heads of animals, etc. They are formulated to contain the maximum amount of water they will retain without shrinking in the pan when they are cooked. You are paying about $8.00 per gallon for water. The;y also havea lot of salt. But they taste pretty good on occasion. The label may specify the predominant meat such as "all Beef" If it doesn't they are a mixture of meats. First 3 answers are right. They also put some artificial ingredients (unless it's Hebrew) to keep its flavor. All the left overs from chickens, pigs, turkeys and cows.....I can't eat them personally....YUK Meat Meat fat A "cereal filler" (bread crumbs, oatmeal or flour) A little egg white Spices (onion, garlic, salt, pepper, etc.) http://homecooking.about.com/od/meats/a/... http://www.howstuffworks.com/question177... |
