Having a problem working at mcdonalds but dont hate the job? |
im a shift manager and im 22 ive been working for couple years, and use to work when i was 16.. the problem is im working with owner operator not corporate and owner underpay me, and give me bs pay and dont let me do overtime and owner does the same with everyone but nobody is willing to say anything.. and i wanting to go back to corporate like i did when i was 16..because i know how corporate runs unlike owner corporate pays more attention and more aware of your needs unlike my owner.. i felt underpaid and being taken for granted..ive been pretty loyal..and i still get 8.25 and most managers i know before got like 9 10 dollars..or salary with benefits.. so should i switch? cuz i already know corporate but i dont know how im gonna leave the owner.. i do need money what should i do?..imma talk to owner but i doubt anything will happen cuz many have tried.. 8.25 is not fair for manager pay. Yes try to transfer to corporate. I work as a shift manager for a fast/casual restaurant and I get 10.00 (as starting wage, i just went from crew-management). You could also try to get a job at another restaurant. Move out to a different McD's or go to another fast food like Wendys or BK. Just make sure that you are doing a top notch job. Make sure you have talked to the owner before your do anything. Document every conversation that you have with this owner. If he does not help or does not explain his position, suggest to him that you would like to have a meeting with corporate to discuss this situatiion. If he agrees that's a good sign that he's willing to find a solution. Don't forget, I don't know your work ethic. Just because you have a title does not mean that you have earned your salary. Are you coming in on time, do your employees respect you, follow you. Does the owner need to reprimand you for doing a poor job. Are you numbers in line with past managers..... There's alot to think about when working out a situation like this. 8.25 is not fair you should move out of there..thats not good at all... most managers at coroporate get 9 10 11$ or salary and get overtime when needed.. and better benefits than what owner has to offer. spend some more time to find another place or job and go for it. all the best. |
