Any pros and cons about the job? I'm 16 years old and I'm thinking about applying. Would this be a good first job for me? What's it like to be a server? Since you're not really serving them much. Line person? Prep? Utility? Sorry.. a lot of questions but I'm curious before I apply and I want to know what should I apply for. I work as a line person at Golden Corral so I can fill you in on that position. Line people mainly operate the registers, give drinks to customers after they walk in. There isn't really a lot of down time since we're constantly restocking cups, plates, trays, ice and anything else at the line. It's a good job if you're just starting out and the pay is decent. However, sometimes when it gets extremely busy, you might not be able to take your scheduled breaks. All in all, being a line person isn't too demanding and I'd recommend it as a first time job since it was mine too! Servers mainly tend to the customers, refill their drinks, and pick up their plates. Utility is pretty much washing dishes in the kitchen. If you're still unsure about what position to apply for, just put "any" down and the manager will work something out with you. Good luck with the job hunt! |
