Why do Fast Food Managers treat an application for part time work like its a real job interview? |
Seriously, Ive been looking all over town for a job, I had an Interview at jack in the box today, first of all why the hell is the application more then Personal Information and 3 questions. Manager: So Robert, why jack in the box Why the hell do you think Jack in the box, Im broke your hiring. Put the damn thing together Manager: So... Where do you see yourself in 3 years Seriously, Does anyone WANT to work in fast food, People only work there because they cant get a job anywhere else. My theory is that since these managers wasted their life in Food Service so they feel the need to make themselves important by treating there few actual management responsibilities to simulate some kind of career. The next time I have to go to a Fast Food Interview Im thinking of just taking the completely honest route. Okay, My name is .... Im 18 I live with my parents, I have no social life, so Ill pretty much have nothing to do but work, Ive worked in Fast Food Before so I know how to use alot of the equipment. I need the money so Ill just be a drone you can boss around and not worry about me quitting on you, until I get a better job. So if you hire me you will have an experianced, obediant employee, who wont try to cause a fuss when he gets pissed off. What would an employer think of that. I would actually hire you! I have a business and I get sick of butt kissers who put about 1/4 of reality on the application. Believe it or not, I would hire you. To answer your question in the same tone that you asked it. Because it is for a real job that pays a real paycheck, even if not a very big one, stupid! I suggest you get out of your cushy, daddy got it for me job, and learn how to deal with people. I suppose you are one of the those that have been fired repeatedly from fast-food jobs because you just can't cut it. it makes them feel important I would never hire you. Believe it or not, working at a fast food restaurant is a real job. You work your hours, pay your taxes and get paid. Most of my employees are either high school kids, college kids, or mothers who are working for a second income. Sure, most of them will not become rocket scientists, but there are a lot of valuable skills they can learn. How to handle money, how to interact with other employees and most importantly how to deal with jerks like you. You want to know why you are looking all over town for a job, because you are an idiot. Do you think your attitude does not come across to the person asking you those questions that you think are stupid? I bet it does. By the way, I have been in food service for almost 20 years. I do consider it a career. I am good at it and make darn good money. Maybe you should quit doing fast food interviews and just keep living off of your parents. I bet they are proud of you. They ask those kinds of questions to feel out what kind of attitude you have. A negative attitude like yours would shine through and I wouldn't waste much more time interviewing you. I know I would appreciate the honesty. |
