I lost my job a couple of months ago and I have an 10 month old son? |
What can I do to earn money so that I don't have to lose everything I have. I have tried temp agencies, I have tried the unemployment office, everyone keeps telling me that I'm too experienced. I need a job fast and making the money that is pertinent to my experience, what can I do. I am experienced in Medical Billing, Coding, Administrative, Clerical, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Collections, Customer Service, I was an Assistant Supervisor as well, everyone keeps telling me that the job market is slow right now. Anyone know of a way that I can find a job in Lakewood, CA or nearby cities You may be a threat to supervisors who fear a know-it-all attitude or, worse, you may be a threat to their own jobs. The interviewer may also be suspicious that you couldn鈥檛 handle your previous higher-level responsibility that鈥檚 why you are opting for a lower position. Convince the interviewer that the position for which you are applying is right for you at this stage in your life and career. If cite increased outside responsibilities, such as a growing family, as a reason for your choosing a new career direction, be sure to emphasize that you still have strong dedication toward accepting challenges and making room for growth. Also, emphasize your past successes and your strong work ethic. Point out your interest in longevity and stability at this point in your career. There may be other reasons. Go over the checklist below. There are many reasons an interview doesn't result in a job offer. The interviewer may think that the applicant: 路Lacked the skills to perform the job 路Was unable to answer questions clearly and concisely 路Didn't project and successful profile and lacked poise or confidence 路Was overly aggressive; personality wouldn't fit with team 路Was unprepared and asked few if any meaningful questions; lack of research about the company 路Was unable to explain unfavorable factors in a resume, such as employment gaps or lack of degree 路Had unrealistic expectations about salary; was more interested in salary/benefits than the job Almost all interviewing problems could be avoided by taking the time to prepare and practice before the interview. Remember, it is not necessarily the candidate who is the most qualified who gets the job. It's the applicant who convinces the employer that she/he can do the job and become a dynamic part of the company team. The formula to success is part skills and part personality, so make a good impression. Peace and every blessing! forget the fast job. go to the local community college and talk to a counselor. get enrolled in a program that will give you skills that pay more money. be sure to discuss financial aid options. think of your future, not just the present. Cold call hiring managers! Develop a script that will allow you to describe your skills in less than 60 seconds. Get the phone book, ask for the hiring manager, introduce yourself and summarize your skills, then ask if they have anything that matches what you have to offer. Be forewarned that you can expect 2-3 interviews per 50 calls, which should lead to 1 job offer. Message me through yahoo answers if you need help. File for un-employment, food stamps, medical assistance, WIC. If you have medical coding experience, you shouldn't have any problem finding a job......BUT FILE THE UN-EMPLOYMENT, even if you're turned down which I doubt your will, ,....... This is why I totally disagreed with our state and federal governments on removing the safety net for extremely needy women like you. It was called AFDC (or welfare.) Yes it was abused in some cases, but at least mom got a minimum to tide her over until she got another payday. We have totally abandoned our young mothers and their children And I for one think this is a horrible condition for the working mothers of America. We should have PAID childcare for low income mothers, and large companies should have job site child care centers. Instead of moving forward, America is now a 3rd world nation. How disgusting. Honey, forget Lakewood and start looking elsewhere. S.F. is a good labor market and so is Santa Rosa and surrounding areas. Good luck sweetheart. Yes, It's bad situation, I know.
