Good restaurant to be a Waiter at?? |
I am looking for a job as a waiter at any restaurant that pays anything above $6 an hour. Flexible working hours is also important. I live in the Kansas City, Kansas area, if that helps. Every server position I have ever had or heard of only pays $2.35/hour. You will make up the rest in tips. So don't go looking at a place thinking your hourly is going to be good. If I were you I would start at a national chain type place such as Ruby Tuesday or Applebees or something. They almost always have a training program that is decent and will allow you to get some experience so then you can move on to a place with higher check averages (bigger tips) that wouldnt normally hire someone to serve without exp. Although you might find a fine dining place and see if they will train you and let you work your way up to server The five best ways to try to find a job, listed in order from lowest success rate to best, are: 1. Asking for job leads from: family members, friends, people in the community, staff at career centers -- especially at your local community college or high school or college where you graduated. 2. Knocking on the door of any employer, factory, or office that interests you, whether they are known to have a vacancy or not. 3. By yourself, using the phone book's Yellow Pages to identify subjects or fields of interest to you in the town or city where you are, and then calling up the employers listed in that field, to ask if they are hiring for the type of position you can do, and do well. 4. In a group with other job hunters, using the phone book's Yellow Pages to identify subjects or fields of interest to you in the town or city where you are, and then calling up the employers listed in that field, to ask if they are hiring for the type of position they can do, and do well. 5. Doing A Life-Changing Job-Hunt. A job hunt is just a job hunt until we come to that point in our lives where we want to set our feet upon a new path. When the traditional job hunt doesn't work very well at all. A life changing job hunt requires a different approach. You are contemplating radically shifting direction. This is called by various names. Sometimes it's called "Find Your Dream Job," Sometimes it is called "a career change." Peace and every blessing! |
