Are there any employers out there willing to hire a high school grad? |
I am 17 and a half years old. i live in queens, ny. I have summer experiences working with sanitation, a supermarket and a tin box company. I would prefer to work in queens, brooklyn or manhattan. Please no minimum wage job because i'm worth more than that. If you need a resume, no problem. I doubt many legit employers would advertise on Y!A. Your best bet would be to check the newspaper for those areas you mentioned. Maybe ask your folks and friends to keep an ear out for something. Check your church bulletin (if you go to church that is lol), check your local library bulletin, any public place where people tend to congregate. Oh, and I hate to break it to you but I wouldn't be too picky. Nowadays most employers want more then a high school education if they're going to be paying more then minimum wage. Good luck!!!!!! =) Source(s): life experience You're only 17 and how can you predetermine to tell an employer that you are worth more than that when in actuality you have not even worked that long. The most an employer is going to pay a high school graduate is the minimum wage that is current for your State. I'm a self-employed business owner and I would hire you if you were willing to travel to Long Island, but since you prefer the burroughs then I can't help you. But if you don't find anything else online, you can always help us sell the blouses that we offer on our Bling Bling website. You can make some really easy money selling to your female friends and colleagues. If interested, send me an email at: Credit_Files@yahoo.com and I'll send you an application. Otherwise, you can pass around the link below and earn commissions selling our designer blouses: http://www.weoffermore.net/wholesale_fas... Good Luck! "please no minimum wage jobs because I am worth more than that" Hahaha. Well if you are worth more than that, take the minimum wage job and work your way up. With an attitude like that you will not find a job. Get off your high horse and take whatever job you can find. |
