Fitness center jobs?


I'm wanting to work at a fitness center. I'm looking to work at maybe the front desk or a less qualfied position until I recieve my licenense to personal train. Can anyone give me any tips, or what they look for when they hire new employee's. Has anyone ever worked at a gym and if so can you tell me what you did to get the job?
