Waiting on tables...need advises?



I have been working office jobs some important some not so important for a few years. now i want to go back to school and have an evening job in a good restaurant as a server hopefully! (cuz you need to be experienced)
what do you think? what is the challenging part about being a server?

Not putting the food in the customers lap.
paying attention, smiling, being polite even when hot and bothered and they are shouting at you. the cutomer is always right. be very grateful for a tip even if it is only a 拢1 you never know when they might be back with MORE .
waiting on tables sucks babe. I used to do it day in day out for years... get into the promotions work, i do it part time at weekends. I get 拢200 a day sometimes but thats usually for skimpy skimpy outfits. but the good ones are standing in city centre on a weekend and spray perfume on men and ask if they like it.. would they like to buy. Simple. I also do promotions for new beers. just go around the bars with tasters. You get 拢170-拢220 for that a weekend, for 4-5 hours. Look up promotions work uk.
